Our Focus On Safety

Highlander Energy has developed and continues to maintain a safety culture within our organization that a successful safety program begins with an individual, but is ultimately a team effort. The responsibility to do a job safely falls on each and every Highlander employee. Ongoing training and education assure that our employees are prepared to do their job safely. Our Safety Director consistently collaborates with the Owner and Project Managers to ensure the success of our safety program is at the forefront of daily operations.

Supervisors and field employees are trained in hazard awareness and methods to control each potential hazard. Job safety begins with safety pre-planning using risk assessments and safety checklists, and continues throughout the project utilizing job safety analyses, toolbox meetings, safe work permits, weekly supervisor forms, and any job site specific safety plans that may have to be implemented.

All Highlander supervision has current First Aid/CPR certification. Annual refresher safety training is conducted, along with any specialized training required. All training is organized by our Safety Director, who is an authorized OSHA Outreach Trainer. We also maintain a DOT drug testing program that includes pre-hire, random, reasonable cause, and post-accident testing.
